New in a leadership role
A colleague yesterday, a manager today. The technical work went well – leadership is a different discipline, and nobody ever really explained it.
One-to-one support for managers and specialists
One to one
In a course, ten people learn the same thing. In coaching, one person works on what is actually at stake right now.
Managers and specialists regularly face questions they cannot discuss with anyone at work: not with their own staff, not with the management, and certainly not at home. That is exactly where coaching begins.
Coaching is not a lecture, and it is not consulting where somebody tells you what to do. It is a structured conversation with someone from outside who brings experience, asks the right questions and stays with it – including when the first answer turns out not to be the right one.
We work with lecturers who have led people themselves: people who have carried responsibility, owned decisions and brought teams through difficult phases.
Why coaching
A colleague yesterday, a manager today. The technical work went well – leadership is a different discipline, and nobody ever really explained it.
A restructuring, parting with an employee, a new market. There is no clearly right answer, but there is a way to decide properly.
A conflict that will not go away. A team that does not deliver. A pattern that repeats even though everyone in the company can see it.
Coaching is not a repair shop. Most people come because they want to grow into their role before the pressure builds.
Three formats
Three formats for three starting points. Which one fits follows from what you want to achieve and over what period.
For specialists and managers with a concrete question
Individual sessions on a clearly defined topic. We work on what you bring: an upcoming decision, a difficult conversation, a role you are growing into.
For management, division and team leaders
Support over a longer period, looking at the role as a whole: leadership style, team, communication, expectations from above and below. Between sessions things are tried out in practice; at the next session they are reviewed.
For companies developing several people
When it is not one person but a whole level that should grow: several managers in parallel, over years, with a shared understanding of leadership across the company.
How it runs
01
About thirty minutes. You describe your situation, we say honestly whether coaching is the right way – and if not, what would be.
02
The first session defines what will be worked on and how you will know at the end that something has changed. Without that goal, coaching stays a pleasant conversation.
03
At the agreed intervals, with concrete things to try out in between. Whatever did not work in practice is on the table at the next appointment.
04
Half way through we check whether the direction is right. At the end there is an honest assessment – and the decision whether to carry on.

The framework
What is discussed in a coaching session stays there. Even when the company pays for it: the company knows that the work is happening, not what it is about.
