Alex Laimer works as a consultant at the Competence Center for Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain at the South Tyrol Business School. In addition, he is a co-owner of Ice-Tec, a company specializing in the production of mobile ice skating rinks. He earned his PhD in Finance from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano as part of the Oswald Lechner research initiative and currently serves as a teaching assistant, where he equips students with practical tools for data analysis. His academic research focuses on empirical analyses of private pension systems and actuarial simulations. Through this work, he has developed a strong understanding of the statistical methods underlying modern AI solutions, as well as the scalable use of big data for knowledge generation. His professional focus lies in designing, tailoring, and implementing AI-based solutions that create tangible business impact.
